This painting is inspired by starry night skies in red rock country of the Southwest, typically seen in Utah, Arizona and some Southwestern parts of Colorado. These desert type landscapes tend to be pretty remote and offer incredible night skies and beautiful, rich colors at sunset. It can feel especially magical if a bright moon rises up in the middle of the night.

The wood round is  made of natural, lightweight balsa wood. The circumference of the slice has natural wood bark. The edges and back are varnished in mat as well as the front of the painting. There is a hook on the back for hanging on the wall. Additionally there is a signed certificate on the back with details about the art.
