This painting is inspired by a clear desert night above the mountains in California. During a recent trip to Palm Springs in the Spring I enjoyed seeing the mountains lit up to look pink and purple while on another trip in November I got to see and incredible super bloom which inspired the colorful foreground of the painting. The night sky is inspired by the colors of the mountains and the flowers while also the actual amazing skies you can enjoy in Joshua Tree National Park near by.
