This painting is inspired by starry night skies in the Mojave Desert. Visiting that part of California, including the Joshua Tree National Park area offers an paralleled desert landscape, both awe inspiring as well as intimidating in its harsh conditions. The scenery is remote and offers incredible night skies and lovely earth tone hues.

The wood round is  made of natural, lightweight balsa wood. The circumference of the slice has natural wood bark. The edges and back are varnished in mat as well as the front of the painting. There is a hook on the back for hanging on the wall. Additionally there is a signed certificate on the back with details about the art. The painting is approximately 14″ in diameter on the longest side – each wood slice is unique in size and shape.
