Joshua Tree Watches, acrylic paint on wood round, Approx. 14″ Diameter, 2026
This painting is inspired by a star-filled night above the Joshua Tree National Park in California. I find these trees so incredibly mystical and intriguing. But I also find them so intimidating to draw for those same reasons. I really enjoyed the challenge of trying to do justice to a single tree in that lovely desert landscape.
The wood round is made of natural, lightweight balsa wood. The circumference of the slice has natural wood bark. The edges and back are varnished in mat as well as the front of the painting. There is a hook on the back for hanging on the wall. Additionally there is a signed certificate on the back with details about the art. The painting is approximately 14″ in diameter on the longest side – each wood slice is unique in size and shape.
