Luminous Mountain Night I, acrylic on board, 14″x18″, 2022

This painting is inspired by magical, star filled night skies above the spectacular Rocky Mountains of Colorado. While working on this scene, I thought of the contrast of the nearly black seeming mountains and trees against a much brighter night sky often seen on camping trips. Sometimes I’ve tried to take photos of those moments but they just never really come out the right way, often not at all =) But I’ve not tried to hard I must admit because I just enjoy looking at the magical atmosphere. I painted this painting with that in mind, trying to share that lovely experience that I know I share with many other outdoor enthusiasts.

The painting is varnished in satin, has a signed certificate of authenticity on the back as well as a hanging wire.
